? Just Say “No” to “Spiritual Inspiration” Memes
There’s a popular meme site (and probably more like them) posted from by a lot of Christians called “Spiritual Inspiration.” A lot of their posts say something like this:
“January 28, 2019 – I declare you are going to see a turnaround in your health, employment, relationships, and finances. God is going to do amazing things in your life this week!”
Or, these memes say they’ve got a message from God for you like “The most challenging times are only preparing you to receive something bigger and greater. You might not know how or when, but just know it’s coming your way!”
When you read this, don’t you wonder “Who says so?? Who is it that is actually ‘declaring’ this stuff is going to happen?” This is what the Bible says:
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his Judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor? Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid? For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” – Romans 11:33-36
Ladies, please stop posting and sharing this kind of garbage! These messages are not from God. No person knows what God is really going to do in your life! What God has to say to you is in your Bible! Please read His Word and become encouraged by learning to trust Him, obey Him and love Him for the salvation He’s given you! This is the only way to truly have peace and security in the storms!
As far as the promises from “Spiritual Inspiration” of good things coming your way, nowhere do we see promises of health and wealth for the Christian! Here are just a few Bible verses about the Christian life. There are more like them:
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.”– James 1:2
“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar s you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.” –1 Peter 4:12-13
And to end with, words from Jesus:
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they keep my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.” –John 15:18-21
God knows your needs; and if you are His, He will work everything out for your good, and for His glory.
